LearnQuality

Terms of sale

Version 1.0 · in force from 1 November 2026

The short version

1. Who we are

LearnQuality is run by a sole trader. It is not a limited company.

In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean LearnQuality and the sole trader who runs it. "You" means the person buying.

2. About these terms

Using LearnQuality for free: sections 1, 3, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14 and 15 also apply whenever you use the site, with or without an account, including the free lessons and exercises. The rest applies when you buy.

These terms apply in full whenever you buy a course on LearnQuality. You'll be asked to agree to them at checkout, and we email you a confirmation of your purchase that includes the key details. Please read them along with our refund and cancellation policy and our privacy policy.

Most of these terms apply to everyone. Where the law treats you differently because you're buying for yourself (a consumer) rather than for a business, we say so. Section 13 covers buying for a business.

3. Your account

4. What you're buying

Our courses are grouped into modules. Some modules are a single course (for example GD&T). Others are made up of submodules that you can buy one at a time or all together (for example Core Tools: APQP, PPAP, MSA, FMEA, SPC and Control Plan). The course list shows each module, what's in it, what's free, what's coming soon, and the price. A course marked "coming soon" can't be bought yet, and nor can a bundle that includes one.

What's free, and what you buy, depends on the course:

Free means free to anyone, with or without an account. A free account lets you save your exercise work.

The course list and each course page say exactly what is free and what you would buy.

Not available yet: the GD&T assessment and certificate, and the Core Tools certificate bundles. Nothing can be bought until they open, and the course list says so until then.

5. Prices and payment

How ordering works: (1) choose a course and press the buy button; (2) you're taken to Stripe's secure checkout page, which shows what you're buying and the total price; (3) you tick the box agreeing to these terms and asking for access to start straight away (section 6); (4) you press Pay. Until you press Pay you can correct your details on the checkout page, or leave it to cancel. Nothing is charged until then. Once your payment is confirmed, the contract is made, and we email you a confirmation with these terms attached. We keep a record of your purchase, and you can see it on your account page. Contracts are made in English only. We don't subscribe to any code of conduct.

6. Starting straight away, and your right to cancel

When you buy something online in the UK, the law normally gives you 14 days to change your mind. For digital content like our courses, that right ends once you have asked us to give you access immediately, confirmed that you understand you will lose the right, and your access has started.

At checkout you'll see a tick box. By ticking it you:

  1. ask us to give you access to what you bought (the assessment) straight away, within the 14 days; and
  2. confirm that you understand you lose your 14-day right to cancel once access starts.

Access starts as soon as your payment is confirmed, usually within seconds. We confirm your request and your acknowledgement in the purchase confirmation email, which also has these terms attached so you can keep a copy.

The same tick box says when our own promise ends. On top of the law, if you change your mind within 14 days and haven't yet opened any of the course's applied lessons, downloaded any of its templates or started its assessment, we'll give you a full refund. The promise ends the first time you do any of those things. The details are in our refund and cancellation policy.

7. If something is wrong

If you are a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 says our courses must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If they are not:

These rights apply whatever our refund promise says and are not limited to 14 days. For advice on your rights, contact Citizens Advice (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) or Advice Direct Scotland.

If a question in an assessment is wrong, tell us. We will check it and, if we got it wrong, correct the question and look again at results it affected.

8. Assessments and certificates

9. Using LearnQuality fairly

Your purchase is for you, for your own learning. Please don't:

If you seriously break these rules, we may suspend or close your account. We'll tell you why. If you're a consumer and we close your account for a reason that isn't your fault, we'll refund you for the access you haven't used.

10. Our content

The course material, questions, diagrams and software are owned by us (or used with permission). You may use the free lessons, and the paid lessons while you have access, for your own learning. You may print or save your own certificates and your own exercise work. Blank templates you've bought you may fill in, copy and use for your own work and your employer's, for as long as you like. You may not sell them, or publish them as templates for others to use.

Our courses teach and refer to published standards such as ASME Y14.5 and the AIAG & VDA FMEA Handbook. Those standards belong to their publishers. LearnQuality is not connected with or endorsed by them, and our courses do not replace the standards themselves.

11. Changing or closing courses

Free lessons and practice. Nobody pays for these, so we can change, replace or remove any of them at any time, without notice.

What you've paid for. During your 24 months we may change the assessment and the course material behind it: to correct mistakes, to keep up with changes to the standards, or to make it better. You'll still be able to take an assessment for the course you bought.

If we close a course you've paid for. If we stop offering a course, or close LearnQuality, while you still have time left on it, we'll email you at least 30 days' notice and refund the part of the price that covers the time you have left. For example, if a quarter of your 24 months is left, you get a quarter of what you paid back.

Certificates you've earned stay valid. Changing or closing a course doesn't affect a certificate already issued: it stays valid and keeps verifying. Section 8 sets out the only reasons we withdraw one. We'll keep the verification page running for as long as LearnQuality trades, and if it ever has to close, we'll give at least 90 days' notice so you can save your certificates.

We try to keep the site available all the time, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.

12. Our responsibility to you

If you are a consumer: we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it is obvious it would happen, or if you and we both knew it might happen when you bought. We're not responsible for loss that isn't foreseeable. We supply our courses for private learning. If you use them for business, we are not responsible for lost profit, lost business or business interruption.

Training, not sign-off: our courses teach you to understand and apply the methods. They don't make you responsible for approving any real part, drawing or risk analysis, and they don't replace your employer's procedures or the published standards.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

13. Buying for a business

If you buy for a business (for example, your employer pays):

If you need an invoice made out to your business, email us.

14. Complaints

If you're unhappy, please email [email protected]. We'll reply within 5 working days and aim to settle things within 14 days.

15. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your own country's courts. If you live in the EU or elsewhere, you keep any protection the consumer law of your own country gives you that can't be overridden by agreement, and, as a consumer in the EU, you can also bring proceedings in the courts where you live.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Each version shows its number and the date it was first published at the top of this page. When you sign up or buy, we keep a record of the exact version you accepted, and the version you accepted at checkout is the one that applies to that purchase. You can see the versions you accepted on your account page, or ask us for a copy.
